If you were asked to describe what a dentist does for work, chances are it would be easy for you to answer. But do you know what a prosthodontist does? You may not have even heard the term, and that’s ok.
What we do want you to know is that Dr. Chasolen is in fact a prosthodontist. A prosthodontist is a dentist with an advanced degree and training in the appearance and function of your teeth. The speciality combines the art and science of restorative dentistry and focuses on treatments that address missing teeth, jaw problems, and more complex treatments involving dental surgery.
It’s important to us that we not only deliver quality dental care, but do so in a way that provides our patients a positive and comfortable experience. Thanks to modern dental technology, we can do both. One of the cutting-edge tools we use here in our office is something you might not really notice, but it makes our job easier and your experience a good one. If you’ve had an impression of your teeth made before, you know it’s not the most comfortable of procedures. With our new tool, we’ve taken the ick factor out of impressions.
When you hear the words “cosmetic dentistry,” what comes to mind? Do you think of something that “covers up” something below, enhancing its appearance? To a certain extent, this is true. However, cosmetic dentistry is more complex than that.
Recently, one of our patients reached out to us and shared a personal story about a life-changing moment in his life that we helped him achieve. Please read on to hear more of his exciting story.
One of the main goals of dentistry is to save your teeth. But when there is excessive damage from injury or infection, that isn’t always possible. When you have a missing tooth, it is important to replace it as soon as possible to restore your normal chewing function and also to avoid other dental issues that could result when that space is left open. There are many replacement options available, but why is the dental implant so highly recommended?
