It’s important to us that we not only deliver quality dental care, but do so in a way that provides our patients a positive and comfortable experience. Thanks to modern dental technology, we can do both. One of the cutting-edge tools we use here in our office is something you might not really notice, but it makes our job easier and your experience a good one. If you’ve had an impression of your teeth made before, you know it’s not the most comfortable of procedures. With our new tool, we’ve taken the ick factor out of impressions.
Intraoral Cameras Make a Great Impression
In the past, messy molds with rubberlike material were the only option to take an impression of your teeth and mouth. More often than not, patients choked and gagged on the impression, and it made for an unpleasant visit.
An alternative to mold impressions is the intraoral camera. We use impressions to diagnose as well aid in various dental treatments. With an intraoral camera, however, we can take a digital image of your teeth that is far less invasive. It takes a scan of your teeth and the inside of your mouth and only takes minutes to complete. It gives us a 3D impression of your mouth and teeth that we can see on a screen right after the impression is made. What’s more, it delivers a more precise impression and shows the exact condition of your teeth.
Ultimately, what we strive for are exceptional outcomes no matter what dental procedure you undergo. A more precise impression allows us to provide restorations that fit better and require fewer adjustments.
Our investment in dental technology, like intraoral scanners, allows us to do a better job and give you a more comfortable dental visit. On your next dental visit, be sure to ask about the dental technology we use, and we will be happy to explain the benefits.
