Protect Your Smile With Dental Cleanings & Exams in Sarasota

Regular checkups help keep your teeth and gums healthy while preventing future problems. During your visit, your mouth is carefully evaluated, and your teeth are thoroughly cleaned to remove plaque and tartar that daily brushing can't reach. This routine care helps protect your smile and overall well-being.

Dental cleanings and exams in Sarasota allow Dr. Chasolen or Dr. Shemluck to detect oral issues early, saving you from discomfort and more complex treatments later. With advanced technology and personalized attention, your preventive visits help you maintain a bright, confident smile and long-lasting oral health.

Understand Your Oral Health With a Complete Dental Exam

Every checkup visit begins with a complete dental exam to evaluate the health of your teeth, gums, and jaw. Using advanced technology such as digital X-rays, an intraoral camera, and a fully digital workflow, we capture highly detailed images for precise diagnosis and early detection of even small concerns.

For new patients, this process follows the Chasolen Treatment Planning Quint - a detailed, methodical approach developed by Dr. Chasolen and taught to dentists worldwide. This system ensures every aspect of your oral health, from bite alignment to gum condition, is carefully assessed.

Each evaluation helps your dentist understand how your teeth, joints, and muscles work together. This knowledge allows us to create a personalized treatment plan that supports your long-term health and comfort.

Enjoy a Brighter, Fresher Smile With a Professional Cleaning

Your dental cleaning removes the buildup that brushing and flossing alone can't eliminate. Using specialized instruments, your hygienist gently clears away plaque and tartar from your teeth and along the gumline. This prevents decay and gum disease while keeping your smile healthy.

Each cleaning is tailored to your needs, providing thorough yet comfortable care. Your hygienist polishes your teeth to remove surface stains, leaving them smooth, bright, and refreshed.

When your cleaning is complete, your mouth feels fresh and your smile looks naturally polished. Routine visits like this protect your oral health, enhance your confidence, and help you maintain a clean, healthy mouth year-round.

I accompanied an elderly friend to a series of appointments to replace a broken denture. At age 99 and a nursing home resident, she is unable to complete this review herself but she is very happy with the care she received. I was very impressed with the office staff, Dr Chasolen’s assistant, Chanel, and Dr Chasolen’s caring manner and skill. I would not hesitate to use his services should the need arise and highly recommend his practice.

I had some dental work done in California and was left with a complete occlusal mess and a great deal of pain. I needed to find a dentist locally who could correct the work- I saw several dentists in Sarasota, and all were either unwilling or unable to help. I finally found Dr. Chasolen who completely changed my life for the better. He assured me he'd do everything he could to make me comfortable again. We worked together for months to correct the improper work and I'm now completely out of pain thanks to his talent and patience. I am forever grateful! I see Sara in his office now for cleanings and she is also wonderful.

I was referred to Dr Chasolen’s office over 14 years ago due to previous dental incompetency that had caused complications that needed Dr Chasolen’s expertise to correct. Dr Chasolen really took on my case, discussed it with a team of other dentist that he consults with and came up with a short term and long term plan. I have had to go through extensive repair work but finally everything is corrected and I have a beautiful smile that also functions properly which is a game changer. His staff has always been so friendly, relatable and professional especially Paula who I have had the privilege to work closely with all these years and has fine tuned my gorgeous restorative caps. The icing on the cake is they play really fun music too, hehe.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dental Cleanings and Exams

How often should I schedule a dental cleaning and exam?
The American Dental Association recommends you schedule a cleaning and exam every six months. Regular visits allow our team to remove buildup, monitor your oral health, and detect problems early. Depending on your needs, such as gum disease or higher cavity risk, more frequent visits may be recommended.
What is included in a dental exam?
A dental exam includes checking your teeth, gums, bite, and jaw joints for signs of decay, disease, or wear. Digital X-rays and intraoral images help detect issues not visible to the eye. For new patients, a complete evaluation following the Chasolen Treatment Planning Quint ensures precise, comprehensive care.
Does a dental cleaning hurt?
Cleanings are gentle and designed for comfort. You may feel mild pressure or vibration as plaque and tartar are removed, but it shouldn’t be painful. If your gums are sensitive, your hygienist can adjust the technique to ensure a relaxing experience while thoroughly cleaning your teeth.
