Fix Failing Dental Work With Expert Retreatments in Sarasota

When you've invested in dental work that has failed or doesn't meet your expectations, the disappointment can be overwhelming. Facing the prospect of doing it all over again isn't easy. At Chasolen - The Art of Fine Dentistry, we approach retreatments with care, precision, and advanced expertise.

Retreating failed dental work requires specialized expertise to understand what went wrong, address the underlying problems, and create lasting solutions that won't fail again. Dr. Chasolen brings over 34 years of specialized experience as a prosthodontist (a specialist in restoring smiles) to complex retreatment cases. You can trust him and Dr. Shemluck with your most complex needs and greatest frustrations. They will correct dental procedures that have failed elsewhere.

Get a Comprehensive Exam to Identify the Best Approach for Retreatment

Our team's extensive experience means they have seen virtually every type of dental failure and understand how to diagnose the root causes. Their expertise allows them to create retreatment plans that address the underlying issues that caused the initial failure.

If you have records from your previous dentist, including X-rays, treatment notes, or lab prescriptions, these provide valuable information about the original work. However, a complete evaluation can be performed even without these records.

We use advanced digital technology to create comprehensive treatment plans. Whether you're dealing with failing crowns or bridges, implants that didn't integrate properly, ill-fitting dentures, or restorations that look unnatural, expert retreatment can give you the outcomes you should have received the first time

Feel Confident in Your Results With Our Expert Team

Dr. Chasolen is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology and fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Dr. Shemluck is a graduate of the prestigious Pankey Institute and a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. With their experience, they can handle challenging situations where previous treatments have failed.

Sometimes retreatment reveals that the original approach wasn't optimal for your needs. A failing bridge might be better replaced with implants. A crown on a severely compromised tooth might be better replaced with an implant that provides more predictable long-term success.

Successful retreatment restores normal function and a confident appearance. You'll eat comfortably, speak clearly, and smile freely without restorations that look unnatural, feel uncomfortable, or fail repeatedly.

Our dentists' expertise ensures your retreatments in Sarasota provide the results you should have received from the beginning.

I accompanied an elderly friend to a series of appointments to replace a broken denture. At age 99 and a nursing home resident, she is unable to complete this review herself but she is very happy with the care she received. I was very impressed with the office staff, Dr Chasolen’s assistant, Chanel, and Dr Chasolen’s caring manner and skill. I would not hesitate to use his services should the need arise and highly recommend his practice.

I needed to find a dentist locally who could correct the work- I saw several dentists in Sarasota, and all were either unwilling or unable to help. I finally found Dr. Chasolen who completely changed my life for the better. He assured me he'd do everything he could to make me comfortable again. We worked together for months to correct the improper work and I'm now completely out of pain thanks to his talent and patience. I am forever grateful! I see Sara in his office now for cleanings and she is also wonderful.

I was referred to Dr Chasolen’s office over 14 years ago due to previous dental incompetency that had caused complications that needed Dr Chasolen’s expertise to correct. Dr Chasolen really took on my case, discussed it with a team of other dentist that he consults with and came up with a short term and long term plan. I have had to go through extensive repair work but finally everything is corrected and I have a beautiful smile that also functions properly which is a game changer. His staff has always been so friendly, relatable and professional especially Paula who I have had the privilege to work closely with all these years and has fine tuned my gorgeous restorative caps. The icing on the cake is they play really fun music too, hehe.

Great experience at Dr. Chasolen office today. The office staff and everyone was very informative and helpful. And Dr. Chasolen was very helpful going over the plan for my teeth. My teeth are looking so natural again after my accident. Can’t wait for last visit and final look.

Frequently Asked Questions About Retreatments

What is dental retreatment?
Dental retreatment focuses on correcting or replacing dental work that is failing, uncomfortable, or not functioning as intended. This may include crowns, bridges, implants, or other restorations completed at another practice. Rather than simply replacing what failed, retreatment identifies the underlying cause of the problem, such as bite imbalance or improper planning. The goal is to restore comfort, function, and long-term stability using a more comprehensive and precise approach.
Why do patients need retreatment after dental work?

Patients may need retreatment for many reasons. Some restorations may wear prematurely, feel uncomfortable, or fail to fit properly. In other cases, the bite may not have been fully balanced, leading to ongoing discomfort or breakage. Dental needs can also change over time. Retreatment is not about blame. It is about improving results and finding a solution that works better for your oral health and daily comfort.

What happens during a retreatment consultation?

A retreatment consultation begins with a comprehensive evaluation of your existing dental work, bite alignment, and overall oral health. Prior records or imaging may be reviewed, and advanced digital diagnostics may be used to identify the cause of discomfort or failure. Findings are explained clearly, and treatment options are discussed honestly. There is no pressure to proceed. The purpose is to provide clarity, realistic expectations, and a plan designed for long-term success.
